At Bee Wild Collective, we’re not just passionate about producing local raw unfiltered honey; we’re committed to protecting and saving the bees that make it all possible. Our Bee Rescue Initiative is dedicated to safeguarding these vital pollinators and their habitats through rescue operations and public education.

Why Rescue Bees?

Bees play a crucial role in pollinating many of the crops we rely on for food. Unfortunately, due to various factors like habitat loss, pesticides, and diseases, bee populations are declining. By rescuing bees, we help maintain healthy populations that can continue to contribute to global food security and ecological health.

Industry‑Wide Shortage:

Over 60% of U.S. honeybee hives were lost this past winter (Project Apis m), with experts projecting losses could hit 70% in 2025. This sharp decline has cut honey production nationwide, pushing prices higher and making raw honey harder to find.

Local Impact:

Bee Wild’s small, wildcrafted batches are even more vulnerable to these challenges. In California alone, over 62% of colonies were lost during the pollination season, disrupting local harvests and limiting supply.

Environmental Pressures:

Extreme weather, habitat loss, pesticides, and pests like the Varroa mite have worsened pollinator decline—threatening both honey production and the crops we depend on.

What We Do

• Swarm Rescue: When bees swarm, they are often misunderstood and considered a nuisance. We safely relocate swarms to new, secure habitats where they can thrive without posing risks to human populations.
• Hive Relocation: In cases where bees have established hives in inconvenient or unsafe locations, we carefully relocate the hives to our apiary or other safe areas where they can continue to grow and contribute to the ecosystem.
• Public Education: We provide education and awareness programs to help the public understand the importance of bees and how to act responsibly when they encounter them.
